Our hot cups are made by Cambium, in Quebec. The have water-based coating designed for sustainable take-out packaging. Unlike traditional PE or PLA coatings, aqueous is fully recyclable, compostable, and biodegradable, making it one of the most eco-friendly solutions available. Beyond its sustainability, aqueous provides a highly effective barrier against moisture and grease, giving our take-out packaging exceptional durability.
Cambium is certified home compostable, which means that you can compost it in your own backyard or any home compost.

You might have noticed the sticker on our coffee cup stating that our cups are 100% compostable. But what does that really mean?
Our cups are made by SoFI, a company dedicated to creating the most sustainable disposable cups, without any unnecessary complications. At Cass Café, we value transparency, and that's exactly what SoFI embodies.
SoFI's cups and packaging are 100% biodegradable, breaking down naturally in marine or soil environments in under 180 days. They are also completely compostable at home or in industrial facilities, eliminating the need for special processing.
We acknowledge that these cups are still single-use items and that our efforts aren't perfect. However, we hope to inspire other companies to consider more sustainable options and make a positive impact on the environment.

Bye plastic lids!
Most to-go cups come with plastic lids, which are detrimental to both the environment and our health. These lids contribute to increased waste and release harmful toxins and chemicals into our water and soil. Additionally, many plastic coffee lids contain bisphenol A (BPA), a chemical associated with numerous health issues such as cancer, infertility, and birth defects. Therefore, plastic coffee lids are not only environmentally damaging but also pose significant health risks.
SoFI cups are truly innovative. Not only do they have a stylish design, but they also feature a built-in lid. This integrated spout ensures a drip-free experience, maintains the cup's shape, and never becomes soggy. As for cambium, the lid is made out of carton, which does not have plastic.
